Bujoist Profiles

Meet BuJoist Lauren! (@812journal)

My name is Lauren, and I am the main face behind 812 Journal. My business is an online store, and I currently live in Indiana. I do have a business partner who helps with the financial side of the business, but I am the one in charge of daily operations.

812I have always known that I wanted to work for myself, the problem was finding a business that worked for me that I was passionate about. I spent a year researching and learning about the process of building a brand by selling physical products. After trying out a few products in other categories, I realized that there was a need for a bullet journal set that included everything a beginner would need, so I began the process of creating and launching it. I launched the bullet journal set for the first time in May 2018.

After I started to get a great response from my bullet journal sets, I wanted to launch something that could be offered to international customers as well as supplement the bullet journal sets. This is when I launched my new website that offers bullet journal accessories that are available internationally.

My favorite item on my store right now would have to be the set of 13 Micro-Line pens or the phases of the moon stickers!

I mainly use planners and bullet journals for school. I am studying business marketing, and I am in my final year of school, so planners and journals really help me with my time management and organization! Journaling also provides a way for me to relax and de-stress. My favorite kind of spreads are definitely gratitude logs- they keep me focused on all the good in life! Choosing my favorite bullet journalist is really hard. I know some of my favorites are @sleepy.bujo@bulletjournalbymarieke@maryberrystudy, and @paperflight.v! I have so many favorites!

My giveaway item is a set of stickers of the winner’s choice. I want to give the winner the freedom to choose their favorites, because we have such a large selection!

To me, the most important advice I could give to a new bujoist is to find what works for you. Some people are minimalists; some are super artistic; some love color and some like to keep it black and white. Don’t let yourself be pressured by what you see online- do what you like! There are some extremely talented artists out there, but you don’t have to be an artist to bullet journal. That’s what stickers and washi are for! It doesn’t have to be a super intricate spread to be useful and beautiful.
