Bujoist Profiles

Meet BuJoist Andrea! (@MyJournalsAndStuff)

My name is Andrea Victoria, and I’m from Puerto Rico! I am a 21-year-old college student who has to keep track of due dates for exams or assignments, as well with my every day to-do list. Bullet Journaling (bujo) has been a wonderful tool to have a less chaotic lifestyle. I study Political Science and plan to get into Law School next year. I take my bujo everywhere, it even has a little sand from all my trips to the beach. I love to drink my café con leche and plan my week ahead on my bullet journal.

My giveaway item is a set of Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I just love these pens so much! They are good for hand lettering, they come in so many colors, and they even work if you want to do a watercolor effect! I did an Instagram poll to see which pallet my followers wanted and the Manga Pallet won.

I used to have a planner, a notebook for college stuff (deadlines, grades tracker…), a notebook for my bucket list, movies to watch… also my phone was full of notes of list of all kinds of stuff. My bullet journal has helped me to have a place where all that chaos is organized into just one notebook. I think I saw a blog post about bullet journaling and the second I finished the article, I took the first notebook I had lying around and did my first layouts. At first, my bujo was only for productive purposes, but it has become a creative way to keep up with everything.

My style has changed, but I love that I have control and flexibility of my spreads, layouts and organization. I recently started penpaling, and my bujo has come in handy to keep track of the letters I have to respond to or send. Also, to write down ideas of things to send and what each of my pen pals likes.

I am the artsy kind of bullet journalist, definitely! I have an art journal and I love mail art, so my bullet journal is influenced by that. I love using pictures, washi tape, doodles… everything that makes my schedules andcollections a little more appealing.

I use my bujo for everything. From grocery list to party planning and music release dates. Some of the collections I currently have on my bujo are: subscriptions tracker, self-care list, wish list, “things to send to a pen pal” playlist, grades tracker… and a lot more. In the beginning of the semester I always make a classes schedule spread and a couple of more college pages.

My favorite set-ups to do are the monthly spreads and cover pages. I love that they set the tone for the aesthetic of the month ahead, and they help me to see the important dates and events all at once.

What are some of my favorite bujo materials? I love my Micron pens, they come in different sizes and they don’t smudge easily. I also love washi tapes, stickers, and pictures or quotes from Pinterest.

My advice to a new bujoist or planner? Start simple, and gradually try new stuff/collections/layouts to see what you like. It can be overwhelming at first, or you might think you don’t have the “creativity”; but the important thing is that you find what works for you. That’s the beauty of the Bullet Journal, you have the freedom to create a planner that works for your needs and interests.
